Would You Ever Tell Your Spouse That You Cheated?

So, imagine for a second that you had a momentary lapse in judgement, and had a one-night stand with a stranger.

Now, this is something you never thought would happen to you, in fact, you could have sworn that you were above such, after all, you are upright, godly, and loves your spouse to death. Yet, it did happen, perhaps in your weakest moment, or perhaps it was something you could have prevented.

You feel terrible about it, and you have been trying to forgive yourself ever since.

Would you tell your spouse, knowing there is a chance that your marriage would crumble, and that he/she may never forgive you?

Or would that the one secret that will die with you?

If you would tell, would it be to clear your conscience and lighten the heaviness of your guilt? Or just to honour the pact of honesty you made with your spouse?

If you were the spouse, would you want to know? Or would you prefer to never know?
